- What do you do when you’re not at the gym? Your profession?
I am a sales engineer. Basically I design and sell automated conveyor systems for material and parcel handling in various types of manufacturing plants and distribution centers.
- How did you find out about CF? After college I dropped about 60 lbs. and I was looking for a good way to keep myself fit enough to enjoy several hobbies that I struggled with when I was heavier. For no good reason, I was sure I would never do CrossFit. A good friend finally convinced me to try it and I have loved it ever since.
- What makes you come in and train on days that you don’t want to? Truthfully, I really do want to be there on most days. Exercise is very important to me physically and mentally after a sedentary day at the office. Reluctantly, I allow myself to not show up on days when my body just needs restt.
What’s one thing you would like to accomplish within CF in the next year? 2 years ago I set a goal to be able to do 30 pull-ups, run a sub 22:00 5k, and deadlift twice my body weight. CrossFit has gotten me closer than I have ever been. Aside from that I would love to complete a handstand push up and a muscle up.
Name something about you that’s a little-known fact. I am no master craftsman, but when I get a chance, I enjoy building (and sometimes selling) furniture with my dad.
